The way I talk to myself matters and it says a lot about where I stand when it comes to self love. I’ve started to observe the way I talk to myself and the beliefs I have about myself. When I find myself using harsh words towards me I hold on and ask which kind words can replace them? One example was me saying „I must learn that“, „I must get more organized“, „I must…“ the word „must“ implies the pressure I often put on myself and I decided to take away that pressure and replace „must“ with „would like to“. „I would like to learn that“ sounds much more gentle. Replace „Im stupid“ with „I made a mistake and want to get better“ or „I will never be able to do this“ with „This is hard, I will keep trying and I need time“. It can start with little details like that. These details matter. Words shape and reveal our reality.
